Financial Information
Financial Information
We’ll give you financial information to help you make the best decision. We’ll divide the information into monofocal or enhanced lenses. For your convenience, we accept VISA/MasterCard. If you will have difficulty paying for your portion of cataract surgery, please ask the surgery counselor to explain alternative options. These costs are for ONE EYE, not a pair of eyes.
Monofocal Lens
If you have Medicare, your responsibility will be approximately:
| Testing | $15.93 | |
| Office Visits | 32.92 | |
| Physician fee | 130.85 | |
| Facility fee | 194.57 | |
| Tecnis lens | 10.00 | |
| Anesthesia | 20.00 | |
| Total | $404.27 |
| If you have secondary insurance, that insurance will probably pay some or all of what Medicare does not pay. In which case, your obligation would be either less or nothing. |
If you have Clear Choice, your responsibility will be approximately:
| Office Visits | $10 – 15 | |
| Surgery Center Co-Pay | 200.00 | |
| Anesthesia | 0.00 | |
| Total | $210 – 215 |
| These co-pays depend on the type of insurance plan you have. We can easily help you understand the provisions of your plan. |
If you have insurance other than what’s listed above, what portion these other insurance providers will cover is so individual that we will make up an individual letter just for you. These prices are ESTIMATES BASED ON PAST EXPERIENCE ONLY. Your own bill might vary from these published amounts. We will work with you before your surgery so you have as few surprises as possible.
Enhanced Lens
The simple rule is just add $1800 to whatever insurance above pertains to you. Enhanced lenses are an additional cost because:
- The lens costs the doctor more.
- The lens requires more testing.
- The lens requires additional post surgical care.
- In very rare cases, people want to exchange their lens for a different one, in which case,
the doctor shares the loss with you.
